Year 4 - Visit to the Rose Garden
At the start of Holy Week, the Year 4 class walked to the Rose Garden to create our Easter art gallery and then explore each class’s work. This year, each class took part in the A-Cross the World project. They chose a cross from a different part of the world and used it for inspiration to decorate their own crosses. After spending some time exploring the crosses in pairs, the Year 4 children took part in a quiz to locate specific crosses based on information from the background story or the technique used to create them. They had a great time exploring and choosing their favourite crosses.
Year 5 - Chocolate Bingo
Jade from Tesco's community champions visited Year 5 today to play a game of stand up bingo. Every child received a ticket and sat down with a bag of sweets when their number was called. The last person standing was Layla, who won an Easter egg. Thank you so much to the Tesco for coming today.
Year 6 - Stand Up Bingo
Today we had a special visit from Tesco, who led a fun game of “Stand Up Bingo”. Each child started standing with a raffle ticket and as their numbers were called, they sat down, until only one person remained standing. It was great fun for everyone involved and a big well done to Seb Taylor for being our class winner!

Year 1: Toy Museum
Year 1 loved showing their adults all of their learning in our toy museum. They played with old and modern toys together and taught their parents lots of new facts.
Year 3 Food Technology: Peeling, Cutting and Grating
Today, we became young chefs as we mastered essential food technology skills like peeling, cutting, and grating to prepare for our seasonal tarts. At our busy preparation station, we practised the "claw" and "bridge" cutting techniques to safely slice sweet strawberries, crunchy carrots, and juicy pears. We also revisited our Year 2 skills by grating and snipping ingredients to create different textures. By focusing on our Year 3 progression, we learned how to handle a peeler effectively and decided which parts of our fruit and vegetables were best to eat. To ensure we didn't waste any food, we used our prepared ingredients to make our fruit tarts in the afternoon. ready for us to evaluate in our next lesson!
Year 3-Food Technology: Seasonal and Imported Foods- Fruit tart
Throughout this unit, we have explored the fascinating journey of how our food reaches our plates. We discovered that while "seasonal" eating means choosing fruits that grow nearby at certain times of year, it is often difficult to make a truly seasonal fruit tart because so much of our food is imported from all over the world. This is why we have such a huge variety of choices at the shops! To make our delicious fruit tarts, we used a range of ingredients, including shortcrust pastry, custard, and a rainbow of fruit such as melon, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pears, and grapes. I was so pleased to see so many children being brave and trying every single type of fruit on their tarts. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying such a healthy, varied treat that they had prepared all by themselves!
Year 6 - Spaghetti Truss Bridges
As part of our Year 6 DT project, the children have been learning about bridge structures and design. The children worked incredibly hard to plan, design and build their own truss bridges using spaghetti, carefully considering strength, stability and how to reinforce their structures. Throughout the project, they showed fantastic creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills, testing and improving their designs as they went along.
