Smart School Council -How can our Peace Garden be improved?
In our Smart School Council session this morning, we discussed how our Peace Garden could be used more effectively. We looked at five options. Will was our class leader and Hamza was chief note maker and they did a fantastic job! We looked at British values, especially democracy as part of our discussion process. Our final decision was option 2- to have peace garden monitors.
Year 6 Class Worship- NSPCC
Today, year 6 joined in with a NSPCC virtual worship. The theme was all about speaking out if we ever have any worries and the amazing resource available to the children in ‘childline’.
NSPCC- Year 5
During our class worship this morning, we watched an online assembly led by the NSPCC, about speaking out and staying safe. We learnt about children's rights and discussed what we feel is most important to us. We all have the right to speak out and stay safe!
Year 4 - Dance
Our Dance topic in Year 4 this half term is Myths & Legends, and we began by exploring character movements. We then incorporated these into a solo routine.
Reception- All about Bonfire Night
Reception have been learning about Bonfire Night this week. Today, we looked at the importance of staying safe around bonfires and fireworks. For example, we discussed how only adults can set off fireworks, how we should stand well back and the importance of wearing gloves. We then went outside and used the powder paint to create our own colourful fireworks.

Reception’s First Rhyme Time
Today Reception had their first Rhyme Time session. They joined in using their instruments and singing the different nursery rhymes. They listened and participated well and had amazing singing voices!
Year 3 Science- Food groups
Year 3 have been looking at the different food groups in Science. They identified each food group and wrote about how each group help our bodies. We spoke about making good food choices to ensure our bodies are as healthy as possible.
Year 3- Junior Jam
Year 3 have had a very busy morning in Junior Jam, they started off with French, building on their knowledge of numbers. During Computing they used iPads to code their initials. Finally during music they worked with a partner to use a keyboard, looking at the different notes. Excellent listening and participation throughout. Well done Year 3!
Smart School Councils- Year 5 and 6
Our Communication Team is made up of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. We aim to give everyone a voice, enable everyone to lead change and keep everyone up-to-date and involved.
