Year 4 - Snow White
The Year 4s thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Empire Theatre in Blackburn. Along with the rest of our school, we went to watch this year’s pantomime, Snow White. The excitement was building as we boarded our coach. And the fun didn’t stop the entire time we were there. The children’s highlights seemed to be singing along to K-Pop songs, shouting “6, 7” and being squirted by water pistols. There was plenty of dancing and audience participation - all the things our lively Year 4 class love. What a fantastic afternoon out!
Year 3 'Living Life in All Its Fullness' Our Panto Adventure!
Today, we truly embraced living life in all its fullness with our incredible trip to the pantomime! From the minute we got on the coach marked the start of a fantastic adventure. The performance was amazing. The children fully immersed themselves in the festive spirit, enthusiastically joining in with all the songs and music, cheering the heroes, and shouting the catchphrases. A special moment of unexpected joy was seeing Elijah randomly picked from the audience to collect a prize on stage.
Year 2 - Music - Dynamics
This afternoon Year 2 enjoyed their music lesson focusing on dynamics. They warmed up their voices ready for singing along to some of their favourite songs with the correct dynamic in mind. Beautiful singing Year 2!

Let’s Go Sing Workshop
On Monday our choir had a fantastic Let's Go Sing Workshop with Rose. She was so impressed with their enthusiasm and fabulous singing! They are looking forward to practising all of the songs ready for their concert in March. Mrs Ham told them about lots of other exciting choir events coming up soon too such as singing at Acer Lodge Care Home, our Christmas Fair, a lantern parade in Whitehall Park and our church Carol Service.
Year 5 - Music
After listening to opera music, the children learned the importance of a vocal warm up before singing. They learned the meaning the the words unison and homophonic and practised these during a performance.
Year 6 - Music
In our music lesson this week, the children focused on developing their singing skills. The children practised singing with clear diction, accurate pitch and expressive dynamics. They learned to listen carefully to each other to stay in tune and create a harmonious group sound. The children explored different songs and experimented with phrasing, rhythm and tone, showing great enthusiasm and confidence. They also discussed the importance of posture and breath control in singing, applying these skills to improve their performance. It was wonderful to see the children supporting each other and enjoying making music together.
Whole School Singing Worship
This morning we welcomed our children back into school with a Singing Worship. We warmed up our voices and bodies so we were all ready to worship through song and do our best learning in our classrooms. We then practised 'A song of peace' as we will be focusing on Remembrance this week and 'Build Up' ready for our Anti-bullying and Inter-faith weeks coming up soon. Super singing everyone!
Wellbeing Wednesday
On Wednesday some of our staff team went for a Wellbeing Wednesday meal and then went to see a production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Albert Hall in Bolton. We were so proud as Isaac, one of our former pupils, played the lead role of Charlie Bucket! It is brilliant to see that he has kept his acting up since leaving St Barnabas and he gave a fabulous performance. There are still tickets left and Isaac will be performing on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
St Barnabas Family Harvest Service
Thank you to all who attended our St. Barnabas Harvest family service. The children sang beautifully, and it was wonderful to see so many of them participate. We appreciate your efforts in bringing them. A special thank you to Rev Ben for inviting us, Mrs. Govan for helping to lead and to Mrs. Araujo for her support. Enjoy a beautiful Sunday, Mrs Wilkinson
