Craft Club
Today at Craft Club we took on the very tricky challenge of weaving! The children chose a range of coloured paper strips and ribbons to make a woven Easter egg whilst enjoying some Easter chocolate. We can’t wait for the next block of Craft Club after the holidays!
Doodle and Dance Club
What a wonderful way to wrap up our sessions! Today marked our very last Doodle and Dance Club, and the children certainly made it a memorable one. We kicked things off by following step-by-step instructions to draw our very own Easter bunnies, and Mrs Wilkinson was so impressed by the focus and determination in the room. Everyone worked incredibly hard, resulting in some fabulous drawings that showcased their unique creative flairs. We finished the club on a high note with lots of high-energy dancing to our favourite tracks, leaving us all with big smiles.
Kids with Bricks Lego Club
This week's theme in our Kids with Bricks Lego Club was flying machines. We watched our weekly video, which gave us some fascinating facts about the very first aeroplanes, inspiring our own amazing creations - we had UFOs, aeroplanes, hover crafts and more! The children had a lot of fun. A special well done to our Builder of the Week, Eliza!
Let's Go Sing 2026
* Pure Magic at the Blackburn Ice Arena! * I am bursting with pride this evening after watching our incredible school choir perform at the Let’s Go Sing concert. Seeing them out there, singing their hearts out with such passion, was a moment I won't forget! What struck me most wasn't just the beautiful music, but the sheer enthusiasm and commitment our children showed. They didn't just learn the songs; they mastered every word and every action, performing with huge smiles and brilliant energy. * A Huge Thank You * Events like this don’t happen without a massive team effort behind the scenes: • To Mrs. Govan and Mrs. Wilkinson: Thank you for your tireless dedication, your lunchtime rehearsals, and for championing our young vocalists every step of the way. • To our Parents and Carers: Thank you for braving the cold at the arena to cheer them on! Your support in the stands means the world to the children (and to us). Our children represented the school perfectly tonight, behaving impeccably. They truly found their voices! What little superstars!
Craft Club
For St. Patrick’s Day at Craft Club, we created rainbow scenes with pots of gold! The children painted a background, created their own pot of gold and then used strips of paper to create a rainbow. Some children even used heart shaped paper punches to create four leaf clovers. Next week at Craft Club: Easter crafts.
Kids with Bricks Lego Club
Week two of "Kids with Bricks" Lego club was all about lights. The children watched a video explaining when the lightbulb was invented and how it changed our lives. They were then tasked with making their own Lego creation with lights. Some children built Christmas trees, others made lanterns or torches and more! Photos of their builds will be sent off to the weekly competition. A special well done to our Builder of the Week - Zachary!
Craft Club Week 2
Today at Craft Club we learned about the art of decoupage and used it to decorate wooden photo frames. The children made some beautiful gifts for Mother’s Day! Next week: St Patrick’s Day crafts.
Week 2 Doodle and Dance
We’ve had another spectacular week in Doodle and Dance, and the energy in the room was absolutely infectious! Our young artists spent their creative sessions bringing a variety of characters to life on paper. From cuddly teddy bears and brave superheroes to colorful fish and zooming aeroplanes, it was wonderful to see their imaginations take flight. When it was time to move, the children jumped straight into our Just Dance sessions with incredible enthusiasm. They did a fantastic job following the rhythmic instructions and keeping up with the choreography. The absolute highlight of the week was definitely "Golden" by K-Pop Demon Hunters—it has officially become a group favourite! The children brought so much power and spirit to that routine, and it was the perfect way to wrap up our second week together.
Kids with Bricks Lego Club
This week was our first 'Kids with Bricks' Lego club! The theme for this week was telephones. We watched our weekly challenge video, which tasked us with creating our own telephone or communication device and we also learned some interesting facts about how and when telephones were first invented. We all had a really fun time and made some amazing Lego creations, photos of which will be sent in for the weekly, inter-school competition. An extra well done to our Builder of the Week - Samuel!
Craft Club
Today at Craft Club, we celebrated World Book Day week by making storybook characters from wooden spoons! We had characters from Tiddler, Harry Potter, Room on the Broom and The Little Mermaid. The children did a fantastic job of using the resources to come up with some fantastic creations! Some children even made matching miniature books to go with them. Next week at Craft Club: Mother's Day crafts!
Doodle and Dance Week 1
The children at Doodle and Dance turned a roll of wallpaper into a vibrant communal masterpiece today, filling the paper with colourful drawings of rainbows, hearts, flowers, and their favorite people and animals. The creative energy didn't stop at the drawing board, as the group quickly transitioned from artists to athletes for a high-spirited "Wake and Shake" dance session. It was a club of pure joy and imagination, leaving the room covered in art and the children full of smiles after dancing their hearts out.
Netball Club Returns
On Friday, we restarted our wonderful netball club and we had a fantastic turn out. It’s great to see so many children wanting to take up netball and learn new skills. This week we had a short warm up and the went straight into games. The children now have favourite positions but we decided to mix it up and play some game time out of positions too. We can’t wait to start the league after Easter!
