Whole school worship: Peace during Advent
Last week we lit our hope advent candle. Today, Manni lit our peace advent candle. Katie, Eva and Jenson read out our peace prayer. Jesus was sent to bring peace to the world and he is known as the prince of peace. Today, we watched the new John Lewis Christmas advert. Lucy said that the man tried to learn how to skate to make the foster child feel welcome as the child may have felt a little frightened or worried. At the end, the child smiled as they had something in common and she would have felt at peace. For our reflection this week, we need to think about how we can find peace but also how we can bring peace to others.

Whole School Celebration Worship
During celebration worship, we celebrated all of our achievements in school this week! We announced the values awards winners in every class and the attendance winners for KS1 and KS2! At the end of our worship, the youngest child in school had the special job of putting the star on the top of our tree! We also welcomed Miss Horsfall to our school family. She will be teaching in the Reception class whilst Mrs Govan is on maternity leave. Congratulations to all of our children and staff members, for another fantastic week in school!
Celebration Worship: Sports Stars!

Girls football team news
We are super proud of our girls football team for their excellent performances over the last few weeks in the girls football league. Some of the girls have never played football before but gave their absolute best. They only lost one game and only conceded 5 goals out of nine games. They came 6th place overall but were only 3 points off 2nd place. Well done girls, we are so proud of you!

Year 6 Design Technology
Year 6 have been busy researching popular Christmas time ingredients today. Next week they will be tasting different Christmas time ingredients and will then plan which ingredients they want to use for their festive sausage roll. They are looking forward to then creating their own unique festive sausage roll with the ingredients they have planned to use and they will be able to purchase them at the Christmas fair.
Year 5- Class Worship- A gift that costs nothing
After watching 'The Grinch' Christmas campaign, the children explored the real meaning of Christmas and how being with your family was far more precious than receiving a gift. They then came up with ideas that they could make or do that don't involve spending money. Some of the suggestions were; to make a cup of tea, give your time to someone you love and care for, read a story, make your own decorations, give a hug and have a movie night.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Every child in school helped to decorate our real Christmas tree this afternoon. It really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Our youngest child in school will place the star on the tree tomorrow in Celebration Worship.
