Year 1&2- A Christmas Cracker Concert
Year 1 & 2 have been busy learning the songs and actions for their ‘Christmas Cracker Concert’ which they will be presenting to our whole school and their families in a few weeks. How exciting!
Boccia event
Super proud of these four boys on Friday. We went to QEGS for a Boccia competition and they represented school so well and not only that they played their socks off! We just missed out on qualifying for the final. We are super proud of you all ⭐️
Reception PE
This morning Reception enjoyed using the parachute during their PE session, playing lots of teamwork games which required really good listening. Everyone joined in and had lots of fun!
Year 2 - RE
This week, we started our Christmas learning in RE we are going to be looking how good news about the birth of Jesus spread and how it made the world feel. We began by looking at what is the news and how do we find out about it. We read our happy newspapers from our library and watched Newsround. We made a note of the various ways we can consume the news and the impact it has on our lives.
Year 3 - French - Animals
This week in French we have learnt lots of different animals including marine animals, farm animals, zoo animals and pets. The class are doing a great job remembering the names of all these different animals.

Whole School Worship: God the Rescuer
Rev Matt led our worship today. We began our worship by watching a selection of videos to discuss if people were in trouble. Rev Matt told a story from the bible about Abraham. The story discussed how Abraham wanted a child but he couldn’t because he was old. Abraham trusted God and one night God told Abraham that he would have lots of children one day. God’s promise came true and they called their son, Isaac. Rev Matt explained that when Abraham was in trouble, he needed a rescuer who was God. God made the impossible, possible. God is compassionate and will always look after us. Christmas is a time to remember this. We ended our worship by singing ‘Rescuer’.
Whole School Peace Chain
During our second week of Advent, we are focussing on praying for peace. Throughout the last week, all classes have created a whole school peace chain. Continuing from yesterday’s worship, we discussed different ways that we can find peace. Ruby said that she had listened to her mum this morning to create a peaceful home environment. Darcy said she had shown peace to her younger sibling. Isaac said he had helped his parents and Percy said he had gone to bed earlier. We will continue to focus on peace throughout this week and the whole of Advent. Our peace chain is displayed in our school entrance for you all to see.
Year 5 - Maths
Today during our maths lesson, Year 5 have been working on their square and cubed numbers and using them in arithmetic calculations. The children used practical resources to extend their knowledge of cubed and square numbers knowing that they make a perfect cube or square.
Peace at Advent Collective Worship
We started our Worship with our youngest child in school, Summer, putting the star on top of our Christmas tree. We then lit our advent wreath candles of hope for the first week of advent and peace for the second week of advent. We reflected on how we could bring peace to others during advent and we had some fantastic answers. We then practiced some of our Christmas songs and each class got a chance to sing on the stage.
Year 5 - Badminton
During our PE lesson, the children worked on their racket technique by keeping a rally going with a partner. The children then began to work on a variety of shots such as forehand, backhand, underarm and high serve.
Foodie Friends Club- Christmas shaped biscuits
The Foodie Friends Club had a fabulous time today baking Christmas-shaped biscuits. Despite a bit of dough sticking to the table, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Using various cutters, they created biscuits in the shapes of stars, Christmas stockings, snowmen, gingerbread men, and Christmas trees.
