Year 3- Art- Tie Dye T-shirt
Year 3 can take pride in their artistic achievements. Last week, they created mood boards that beautifully reflected their personalities. This week, they used those ideas to make cool tie-dye t-shirts. These colourful creations not only showcase their artistic flair but also serve as personalised expressions of their individuality. Amazing work from all. Well done!

Year 4 - Writing Dilemma Stories
In English in Year 4, we have been reading The Balaclava Boy. This week we are writing our own versions. The children have come up with some great storylines about ‘iPhone Boys’, ‘Lipgloss Girls’ and ‘The Pokémon Crew’. The children have been crafting each sentence carefully to build an exciting text of their own. We can’t wait to read the finished pieces.
Year 4 - Science: Investigating Air Pollution
Our super scientists in Year 4 have been busy learning about air pollution and the main causes. We went out into the local area and put up cards smeared with Vaseline at specific locations to see what debris we could catch. We also measured the sound level to see if there were any correlations between the level of noise and the amount of debris. We had great fun using magnifiers to observe the results too.
Online Safety: MyLOL
FYI … it’s MyLOL: A “dating app for teens” poses evident #OnlineSafety risks – especially when its age verification is far from robust. This week’s #WakeUpWednesday guide tells parents and carers what they need to know. Download >> https://bit.ly/3Ueo5pK
Year 1- Rolling a ball
In their PE lesson, Year 1 enjoyed learning the correct technique for rolling a ball accurately. They had to make sure that they swung their hand back and down whilst their chest faced forwards, opposite foot to rolling arm stepped forward and they bent their knees before releasing the ball. Year 1 practised this skill and then applied it to some games where they had to aim at a target such as skittles or marker cones.
Year 3- Class Worship-To drive or be driverless?
During our class worship today, we watched this week's story. According to the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, there's a possibility that by 2026, motorists might find themselves completing journeys in driverless vehicles – cars that can navigate without human control. Year 3 are worried about the idea because they felt uneasy and thought it could be unsafe not having a driver. But, we used this chance to discuss the British Value 'Rule of Laws'. The children were reminded about how everyone must follow the rules when driving to keep things safe. We thanked God for the wonderful world and everything in it. To conclude our worship, the children sang the hymn, 'Our God is a Great Big God.'
Year 5 - Badminton
Year 5 have been building on their racket skills during their badminton lessons. The children have worked on their technique and how to maintain a rally with their partners. The children then began to work on tactics within the game and recognising time and space in order to win the rally.
Reception: Keeping safe
During our PSHE session, our Ducklings discussed how to keep safe both indoors and outdoors. They looked at risks around school and we discussed what could happen. Some of our children designed an obstacle course and we had a group of risk detectives and health and safety officers! They examined the risks and made sure it was safe for our children to use.
