On Friday, six pupils from Year 5 attended the annual RotaKids Conference at the University of Cumbria. They had the opportunity to take part in a variety of different fascinating activities, such as: learning how to keep our bodies healthy, extracting DNA from a strawberry and making poo; learning all about the life cycle of hornets and tasting local honey straight from the hive; learning about water safety from the Fire and Rescue Service; getting the chance to look inside a fire engine and even having a go with the powerful water hose! The children had a fantastic day and demonstrated excellent behaviour, with the staff commenting on how polite our pupils were.
