Year 3 Conquer the Climbing Towers- Rock and River
The climbing towers were a major highlight for Year 3 today. Reaching the top took considerable physical strength and bravery, and it was impressive to see so many children push themselves higher than they expected. The teamwork on the ground was excellent, with the children encouraging their peers and offering helpful advice on which footwork to try next. Every child who "gave it a go" showed great resilience and school spirit.

Year 3 showed incredible courage today as they took on the Air Bag Jump. It was a huge challenge, but the children were so brave as they stepped up to the edge. The cheering from the ground helped everyone find the confidence to 'give it a go.

Year 3: Adventure, Teamwork, and Fantastic Spirit
What a spectacular day for Year 3! Whether they were soaring on the zip line, scaling the climbing towers, or finding their balance on the low ropes, every child showed immense bravery. The river was a major highlight, with everyone splashing into canoeing and paddleboarding, while the airbag jump provided the ultimate test of nerves. Beyond the adrenaline, the children were fantastic ambassadors for the school. They showed great manners throughout the day and took real pride in tidying up after lunch, leaving the site exactly as they found it. Throughout every challenge, the children never stopped encouraging one another and cheering for their peers. It was a day filled with respect and brilliant teamwork. A huge thank you to Mrs Singleton and Miss Gregson for supporting the children every step of the way. Well done, Year 3!
Year 6 - Managing Exam Stress
During our Year 6 class worship, we discussed how to manage exam stress as the children approach their SATs. We talked about how these feelings are completely normal and explored practical ways to cope with them, such as taking time to relax, talking to someone we trust and keeping a positive mindset. We also reflected on the importance of trying our best without putting too much pressure on ourselves. We reminded ourselves that tests do not define who we are, we are all unique individuals with many strengths, talents and qualities beyond the classroom.

Reception-PSHE- The Well-being Wheel
In PSHE we set up five areas of the well-being wheel in class. We had ‘be active’ where we set up a dance party area. We had a ‘give to others’ station where the children could draw a picture for someone and put it in an envelope and give it to someone special. In our ‘Mindfulness’ area we had binoculars and magnifying glasses so the children could look at the finer details of things. We demonstrated ‘being creative’ by working together to make tall constructions. We ‘connected with others’ by telling each other something we liked about them in the ‘chatty corner’.
Year 5 - World Earth Day
To celebrate World Earth Day, Year 5 visited Whitehall Park. We learned about the many invertebrate species that live in the soil, wood, leaves and plants and were able to identify and categorise animals such as worms, beetles, centipedes, wood lice and many more. While we were there, we picked up as much litter as we could find. The more we learn about our planet, the more we understand how we impact it in both positive and negative ways.

Year 3- Class Meeting- Should TIKTOK be banned?
During our class meeting, James and Alice led a debate on whether TikTok should be banned. The children shared many strong points, with those in favour of a ban arguing that the app can be unsafe for young children, time-consuming, and sometimes used for unkind behaviour. On the other hand, those who disagreed pointed out that TikTok is a fun way to be creative, learn new skills like dancing or crafts, and stay connected with friends. After a long discussion where everyone gave good reasons for their opinions, we held a vote. The "Yes" side received the highest number of votes, so we will be taking further action on this in a few weeks. We also looked back at our work raising money for a brain tumour cure, showing how important it is for our class to speak up and take action for things we believe in. We will be baking to raise money soon. It is wonderful to see the class so eager to speak up and take real action to help others.

Year 6 - Hop, Skip and Jump - East Lancs Hospice
Today, our Year 6 children completed their hop, skip and jump challenge in support of East Lancs Hospice. They took part wearing their own beautifully decorated Easter crowns, adding a splash of colour and creativity to the event. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, effort and the way they came together for such a wonderful cause! Well done, Year 6!
