Foodie Friends Club-Making Scones

For our final Foodie Club session this half term, the bakers had a great time making fruit and plain scones. They practised important skills such as weighing ingredients accurately, cutting butter into the flour, and using cutters to shape the scones. They showed great teamwork and enthusiasm, carefully following the recipe and enjoying the hands-on experience of baking. By the end of the session, everyone had created their own beautifully shaped scones, ready to take home and share. The club demonstrates a wonderful example of the children living life in fullness, embracing learning, creativity, and the joy of sharing with others.

Today in Football Club, the children took part in a series of matches with specific challenges and restrictions, such as one-touch finishes, overloads and passing forward. These activities helped them to think strategically, improve their teamwork and develop greater control and awareness during gameplay. Everyone showed great enthusiasm and growing confidence throughout the session.

Craft Club

Over the past 2 weeks we have been making dream catchers at Craft Club. The children decorated the hoops with gems and washi tape, wrapped them with coloured yarn, tied on ribbons and threaded beads. Lots of patience and fine motor skills were needed for this project and everyone did a fab job! We are super excited for our next project: air dry clay mechanical toys!

The W.O.W. Group - Lego Club Training

Our WOW Group has miraculously grown in size this week! And the room was alive with enthusiasm and excitement as we prepared for our Autumn 2 Lego club. This week, the children learned how to introduce the build, support their peers during the build and help them to reflect afterwards. They experienced a build session, completing their own unique builds that represented what God’s Power means to them. Next week we will be planning our first WOW group-run activity.

Let’s go Sing Workshop

Today we took part in the Let’s Go Sing workshop with Gaynor where we learned several songs and sang together. We started by warming up our voices and building confidence as a group. Then we enjoyed singing a range of songs, from fun and simple ones that everyone could join in with, to more challenging pieces. Some of our favourites included: • “Let’s Sing a Simple Song” – a cheerful tune that helped us practise singing clearly and in unison. • “Brenda the Mender” – a playful character song that made us focus on rhythm and storytelling through music. • “The Moon” – a gentler song where we worked on expression and soft dynamics. • “The Scuttled Sloop Pirate Song” – a lively piece that let us sing with energy, actions, and a sense of adventure. The workshop showed us that singing is not just about hitting the right notes, but also about teamwork, listening to each other, and enjoying the journey of music together. We are hopeful that the workshop today has encouraged more children to join our KS2 school choir on Thursday lunchtimes and to take part in the Let's Go Sing concert at Blackburn Cathedral in March.
