DPSSA Netball
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our netball team who have had another super evening taking part in the DPSSA Netball League @ DVHS. Some fantastic play and great teamwork saw them come away with two awesome victories of 9-0 and 8-0.
Let’s go sing concert at Ewood Park!
A huge well done to our choir for their enthusiasm and super singing tonight. It took me over an hour to get there due to being stuck in the horrendous traffic around Ewood Park but it was certainly worth the wait to see these beaming smiles! Thank you to our choir parents for your support and patience tonight. I hope you managed to see some of the concert. A huge thank you to Miss Ashworth and Mrs Hargreaves for all of their effort in helping the children learn the songs. Our choir will be singing one of their favourite songs from the concert in Worship tomorrow so please come along to watch if you are free. Well done choir, you little superstars! I am so proud of you all!
DPSSA Cross Country
Another wonderful afternoon at The DPSSA Cross Country race. Fantastic performance by Team B across all age groups. Everyone showed true St Barnabas spirit, determination and perseverance on a very tricky course. Superb results and so proud of each squad member.
D.T- Textiles- After School Club
Our first lesson went extremely well. We first drew our initial letter on a 3x3 squared paper. We then looked at different types of stitches; zig zag stitch, cross stitch, blanket stitch and the running stitch. The children thought the running stitch was the ideal one to to practice which they all tried independently.

Choir workshop
This afternoon the choir took part in their final singing workshop, before our concert at Ewood Park! The children sounded absolutely fantastic and it has been wonderful to see how much the children have blossomed and grown in confidence in choir!
Farm school
Farm school welcomed into school a 2 day old baby goat this week. All children had the chance to choose a name for him which was selected from a bucket. The winner was ‘pebbles’ chosen by Seb. Farm school children also painted their chicks and carrots, planted peas and made art work for Farmer Georgie to take and put up on her farm. At the end of the class each child was presented with a certificate, we have all had so much fun, the children have been brilliant with all of the animals and shown kindness and respect throughout. Well done Farm School!!

DPSSA Cross Country Race
The DPSSA Cross Country event took place this evening at Darwen Vale High School and Team B were quality. We came 1st place in both the Year 3/4 Girls and Y5/6 races and a 2nd in the boys Year 3/4 race. As a team, we got lots of top ten place finishers who showed true grit and determination when tackling the course. All the hard work in training sessions has paid off and it was an absolute pleasure to watch.
Farm School
Farm School were visited by farmer Georgie’s farm dog ‘Betty’. The children learnt all about the jobs Betty does to help out on the farm, this included, herding chickens and ducks and helping to find lost sheep. The farm school class also planted ‘golf ball carrots’ and even coloured in some carrot pictures too.
