SPAR LANCASHIRE SCHOOLS GAMES
What a wonderful day we have had taking part in The SPAR Lancashire School Games at Stanley Park, Blackpool. The children represented the Borough in The Bee Stinger Netball and achieved some great results! Whole School Singing Worship led by St Barnabas Choir!
Well done to our school choir for planning and leading our whole school singing worship this morning! During choir club on Monday, the children decided on their favourite worship songs and we voted on 5 songs to sing in worship today! The school particularly enjoyed singing My Lighthouse and School Rules!
DPSSA Netball Finals Night
Hugely proud of our netball team this evening! They were silver medalists in the DPSSA Netball finals at DVHS. True Barnies spirit, resilience and team work paid off. Well done Team B!
Story and Craft Club
In story and craft club, we listened to a book called, ‘The Night Before Father’s Day.’ We discussed the special people in our lives and how we can make them feel loved. We then created a card for them.
Orienteering Competition @ Witton
Well done to our Year 6 Orienteering Squad who took part in the BwD competition at Witton Park today. The teams worked together, showed perseverance and sportsmanship to achieve great things. We had some super times and look forward to hearing the results!
Gifted and talented netball at BRFC
What a great start to the summer term. Three of our Year 6 girls took part in a gifted and talented netball session down at BRFC. The girls had a great time practising their netball skills and played a number of games. A representative from West Pennine netball also spoke to them all about joining West Pennine Netball Club, who train at Darwen Vale on Saturday mornings. D.T Club- Textiles - Years 3,4 and 5
Fun in D.T Club! The task was to design and make a small printed cushion cover based on the initial of the end user, which can be used in our homes. I am super proud of what they have made. They have all worked extremely well by supporting and helping each other.
BwD Netball ( High 5s) Finals
So very proud of our Bee Stinger netball Squad. After 5 full on games this evening, they only went on to WIN! Word can’t express how excited we are to see them go on to represent the borough at The Lancashire School Games in July ! Teamwork makes the dream work! #GoTeamB
DPSSA Netball League
A beautiful evening and some wonderful netball played. We played our final group stage fixtures tonight and won both games with scores of 24-0 and 9-1. The team were on fire and now we have topped our group table, we will go onto the grand final in a few weeks. So proud of your spirit, encouragement and determination! Go Team B
Community Groups
We have lots of different community groups and activities for children and/or adults that meet either in our school or in our local community. High fives netball- through to the finals!
A huge well done to our high fives netball squad who won all three of their matches tonight in the High Fives Tournament. They will now go on to the final against other qualifying schools next Tuesday. We are so proud of you all!
KS1 Story and Craft Club
Today in after school club, we read The Rainbow Fish. We had a great discussion about the book which reinforces important messages about friendship and kindness. We then decorated our own rainbow fish using a weaving technique and added further decoration using felt tips. The children were very creative in their designs.
