Year 2 - History
After the Battle of Hastings, William I built many castles across England. This week, we explored the different types of castles we might find in this country. We compared different castles from different time periods. Then we drew our own castle which included many of the features we identified. The children made sure their castle had lots of features so it could defend itself against a potential invasion!
Year 3- Class Worship- World Down Syndrome Day
Today, on 'World Down Syndrome Day', Year 3 proudly wore mismatched socks to raise awareness for Down Syndrome. We learned that individuals with Down Syndrome are just like us-they go to school, have friends, and enjoy everyday activities. We celebrated our differences and thanked God for making us all unique and special.
Year 1 RE Artwork
This afternoon, Year 1 created their artwork for the Rose Garden at Whitehall Park. Their artwork was based on the resurrection of Jesus. The hands on their artwork represent Jesus rising from the dead and the butterflies, flowers, dragonflies and bunny rabbits represent new life.
Year 6 London Trip 2024
Our Year 6 children are off on their exciting visit to London!
Year 6- Matilda in the West End
Year 6 watched Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End. We had seats in the stalls so we had a great view. The children’s faces were priceless as they were so mesmerised by the production and in particular the child actors and actresses. We hope it’s given them some ideas and confidence for their end of year Jungle Book production.
Year 3: Computing
The children have been enjoying creating a short stop motion clip on the tablets this term. This week they have been using a green screen to edit the background on their clips.
Year 6- Houses of Parliament Visit
Our Year 6 class enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Houses of Parliament. They went on a special guided tour and got to go into the House of Lords. They finished the visit in Westminster Hall and looked at where the late Queen Elizabeth II was laid in state. Reception: Rhyme time
We welcomed our grown ups to our rhyme time this morning and enjoyed singing some new songs and old favourites. It was lovely to see those who could come along. Rhyme and story time will begin again on 17th April at 9am.
Reception: PE
This week during PE, our Ducklings focused on ‘aim’ looking at where our object was going. The children used the correct technique of throwing, kicking and jumping to get it on target. Brilliant listening reception and much better at waiting your turn. Well done!
Online Safety: Encouraging open conversations at home
It’s good to talk. Whatever the problem, an honest chat - delivered with a little compassion - can help. This #WakeUpWednesday, our guide has expert tips on encouraging and maintaining open conversations with children. Download >> https://bit.ly/49iJ2nn
Reception: Junior jam
Our Ducklings had a special treat this afternoon and our junior jam staff delivered a computing lesson where Reception could use an iPad and create an image of themselves. They followed instructions well and took turns with the iPad. Well done Reception!
