Reception Muddy Monday
Reception really enjoyed their first muddy Monday of 2022. They enjoyed creating animal houses at Whitehall park. They showed brilliant teamwork as they found different resources to build their houses.
Fun in the snow
Reception class had a very busy and energetic day today! The children loved playing out in the snow this morning. They did some Yoga with our sports coach at lunch time and then had an underwater adventure PE lesson this afternoon. Today we have learned the tricky words ‘into’ and ‘her’ and have thought about sentences we can say with these words in. I’ve told the children to keep their eyes peeled to see if they can spot them in any story books at home.
Reception launches their under the sea topic
Reception are really enjoying the start of their brand new topic! They are starting to learn all about different animals that live in the sea and ocean.
Reception: Maths
The children have been learning to recognise numbers and learning how to accurately draw the correct number of objects. We are blown away with their learning and how independent they are becoming when completing activities.
FOSB Christmas Gift Shop
The children have really enjoyed buying items from our Christmas gift shop. A huge thank you to our FOSB group for making it such a huge success!
Whitehall Park Visit - Reception
Reception have been out on a walk to the Rose Garden to see the Advent Art. We also had a sing song and a visit to the park!
Reception Christmas Party!
Reception had an amazing time at their Christmas Party! They played musical bumps, Christmas corners and pass the parcel. We also had a very special visitor in the afternoon with a sack full of presents for everyone.
A special visit from Father Christmas
Our infant classes were over the moon to have a special visit from Father Christmas after their parties. They all received a special gift for working so hard and behaving so well.
Infant Christmas lunch
Our infants really enjoyed their Christmas lunch today. It was wonderful to see them cracking crackers with their friends and wearing their party hats. We had a singalong to some of our favourite Christmas songs too. Thank you Mellors for the lovely Christmas lunch!
Outdoor exploration in Reception
Reception love to use the outdoors in all weathers. We have been building houses, making potions, building bug houses and performing on our stage.
Reception: making Reindeer food
This week we have learnt all of the names of Santa’s reindeer. We have looked at what reindeer look like and what they eat. We have made some magical reindeer food to take home. The children followed the instructions carefully to make their reindeer food. They can’t wait to sprinkle it outside their houses on Christmas Eve night!
Reception’s amazing Nativity!
Reception blew us all away with their fantastic Nativity Performance this week! The parents said how proud they were of the children and couldn’t believe the courage they showed in front of such a big audience. They sang their little hearts out and remembered their lines brilliantly. We are so proud of them - they are shining stars ⭐️
