Outdoor exploration in Reception
Reception love to use the outdoors in all weathers. We have been building houses, making potions, building bug houses and performing on our stage.
Reception: making Reindeer food
This week we have learnt all of the names of Santa’s reindeer. We have looked at what reindeer look like and what they eat. We have made some magical reindeer food to take home. The children followed the instructions carefully to make their reindeer food. They can’t wait to sprinkle it outside their houses on Christmas Eve night!
Reception’s amazing Nativity!
Reception blew us all away with their fantastic Nativity Performance this week! The parents said how proud they were of the children and couldn’t believe the courage they showed in front of such a big audience. They sang their little hearts out and remembered their lines brilliantly. We are so proud of them - they are shining stars ⭐️
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Every child in school helped to decorate the Christmas tree yesterday. This morning in Worship, Iris, our youngest child in school got to put the star on top of the Christmas tree. It certainly is starting to look, feel and sound like Christmas at St Barnabas.

Money can only be paid on parent pay and you have until Friday 10th December to purchase a ticket to enter the gift shop. The gift shop will be held on Thursday 16th December.
Reception - Jesus walks on water!
In Reception the children have been learning more about the Miracles of Jesus. The children listened to the Miracle of Jesus walking on water to help his disciples. After that, they used the outdoor area to act out the story with their friends.
Reception: Winter
Today the children made the most of the snow and ice to help them to explore the signs of Winter. They found bird prints, explored ice melting, felt fresh snow and even threw snowballs at Mrs Wilkinson!
