Reception: Exploring our differences in RE
During RE, we have been looking into how God has made us all special and unique. The children were able to discuss and understand what makes us all different. Hair colour, eye colour, and skin colour were the main differences in which the children could identify. However, after looking very closely at our palms through magnifying glasses, the children could see how we all had different hand and thumb prints which make us even more special to our God.
Reception Owl Visit
The children in Reception had a very special visit this afternoon. They met 4 different owls. The children saw burrowing owls, a barn owl and a screech owl called Tyler, Midge, JD and Bobby. The children found their brave and held the owls. They also got to feel an owl feather and watch the owls fly. The children were so polite and well behaved during the visit. A big thank you to SMJ Falconry.

Dropping y and adding i to change root words

Monday Mental Health Worship
Today in worship we talked about looking after our mental health. We looked at small feelings that change all the time and big feelings that stay with us and who we can go to for support when dealing with big feelings. We reflected on how we can show our Christian Value of friendship to our friends and be there to listen to them if they are dealing with big feelings. We also discussed how we can show courage and talk to someone we trust if we have big feelings.
A very ‘Muddy Monday’ in Reception
Today, our Ducklings went on their first ‘Muddy Monday’ adventure in the local area. We explored Jack Keys reservoir. The children walked all of the way around the reservoir which took just over an hour. We were extremely impressed with how they showed our Christian values. They took risks, showed resilience and courage throughout the adventure. The children got stuck in the mud, splashed in muddy puddles and enjoyed climbing and balancing along the way! What a super start to the week!
