part of National Poetry Day, Year 4 decided to write poems based on ‘I Wonder’ by Jeannie Kirby. We decided to use the idea of nature and the children collected lots of ideas through discussion, using their talk tokens. Then end result was fantastic with high quality poems that the children are going to share with the residents of Thorncliffe Nursing Home tomorrow. We also had lots of children reading poems to the class using their oracy skills and we also managed to watch some performance poetry by Michael Rosen. What a wonderful way to celebrate all things poetry!
