Today, Year 1 had to try to find shapes and lines in their faces. They each had a picture of their face and had to trace over it as best as they could. This was a challenge for some as they had to make sure the paper didn’t move. After, they pulled the tracing paper off, they could spot the shapes in their faces. We noticed eyes are circles and ovals and our smile is like a semi-circle. However, most of our facial shapes are organic shapes, meaning they do not have a regular pattern to them, which is what makes us look unique. When we do our self-portraits in a few weeks, we need to include organic shapes to make the art more realistic.
