In R.E. today, we explored the story of The Calling of Levi (also known as Matthew) as told in the Gospels. We investigated the  "before and after" moments of Levi’s life to understand the impact of Jesus’ teachings.
We discovered that before meeting Jesus, Levi was focused on: Material Wealth: Working at the tax booth and collecting money.
However, after Jesus said the words "Follow me," everything changed. Levi’s new priorities became: Purpose: Leaving his old life behind to become a disciple.
We discussed why this change happened, concluding that Jesus offered Levi a sense of belonging. It was a lesson on how Jesus can completely change a person’s direction and values.
